POLICE MOTORCYCLE OPERATOR​

TOPICS OF INSTRUCTION INCLUDE:

This 80-hour course taught by State Patrol Motorcycle Operator Instructors will:

Orient class to the terminology, driving skills and liability issues that relate to the operation of a police motorcycle.

This training enhances an officer's ability to operate a police motorcycle in a variety of situations by teaching personal and vehicle control limitations.​​

PREREQUISITES:

  • Certified LESB Law Enforcement Officer.
  • VALID CLASS M Driver's License.

ITEMS TO BRING:

  • ​Helmet: United States Department of Transportation (DOT) approved motorcycle helmet in good condition and free of defects
  • Eye Protection- Shatter resistant eye glasses, sun glasses, safety glasses (for day use). Clear eyeglasses, clear safety glasses (night time or low light use)
  • Gloves: Full finger
  • Long Pants: Blue Jeans or BDU type pants, loose fitting while in the seated position
  • Lace up boots:  Cover above the ankle with good grip soles. (no leather soles)
  • Long Sleeves (shirt or jacket) for higher speed exercises (optional)
  • Rain Gear for inclement weather
  • Optional Personal items: sunscreen, bug spray, refillable water bottle.
