HONOR GUARD-ADVANCED​​

COURSE DESCRIPTION:

Honor - Treating someone special, doing more than is required, and doing it with the right attitude.

The Wisconsin State Patrol is offering a 20-hour law enforcement advanced honor guard training. Although this training does not require completing the Wisconsin State Patrol Basic Course, honor guard experience is encouraged. This training will be a mix of informative classroom presentations and repetitions of practical applications.

The advanced honor guard course will begin in an entire-class training environment followed by several breakout training sessions. The breakout sessions include Marching, Facing Movements, Casket/Urn Movements, Flag Movements, Flag Folding, Casket/Urn Watch, and Rifle Team. The training will conclude by completing a combined Honor Guard Unit presentation in front of the class and instructors. 

ITEMS TO BRING:

  • Flags (American, Wisconsin, and agency)
  • Flag stanchions
  • Ceremonial rifles
  • Blank ceremonial rifle rounds
  • Agency honor guard uniform
  • Eye and ear protection.

PREREQUISITES:

  • Although there are no prerequisites for this course, completion of the basic course is encouraged. ​
