TECHNICAL CRASH INVESTIGATION II

TOPICS OF INSTRUCTION INCLUDE:

  • Technical Aspects of Traffic Crash Investigation
  • Investigatory Principles
  • Fundamental Concepts of Traffic Crash Reconstruction
  • Introduction in Basic Physics and Analytical Methodologies of Crash Reconstruction


OBJECTIVES:

The goal of this course is to introduce the student to reconstruction and prepare them for the crash reconstruction course.  This vehicle dynamics style course is math, trigonometry, and physics intense.  The student should have basic mathematical skills prior to attending this course.  This is a prerequisite course to crash reconstruction.


PREREQUISITES:

Successful completion of Technical Crash Investigation I offered (​June 24, 2024 to June 28, 2024)​.

ITEMS TO BRING:

Items needed for this course:  Computer or Notebook for notetaking. 3-Ring Binder, Calculator, ruler, protractor, & pencil.  Please note, if the student plans on taking Crash Reconstruction and the ACTAR Exam, ACTAR requires specific calculators.  While not necessary at this point, it is recommended students attending this course purchase and begin to familiarize themselves with one of these calculators. They are as follows:

  • Casio: All fx-115, fx-260, fx-300, and fx-991 models
  • Hewlett Packard: HP 33 and HP 35 models
  • Texas Instruments: All TI-30X and TI-36X models
  • Sharp: EL-531WB
