TECHNICAL CRASH INVESTIGATION-l

COURSE DESCRIPTION:

Topics of instruction include:

  • Hand measurements & Scale Diagramming (pre-requisite for Forensic Mapping)
  • Residual Crash Evidence
  • Interviewing drivers, passengers, and witnesses
  • Human factors
  • Evidence collection overview
  • Forensic lamp examinations
  • Introduction to Vehicle Dynamics​

OBJECTIVES:

The goal of this course is to expand the knowledge of DOJ basic crash investigation and to introduce the concepts of Technical Crash Investigation. This course will assist officers to better understand crash investigation and will provide in-depth training on the topics listed above. This is a prerequisite course to Technical Crash Investigation II and Forensic Mapping w/ Trimble Total Stations.​
